NSELL 2021 Annual Meeting

The Newton SouthEast Little League annual member meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 27th at 8 pm. This meeting is open to all league parents as well as to all people interested in contributing to the league by volunteering.

If you would like to attend please email to sign up to receive the meeting dial-in information.

NSELL aims to have a strong league that provides an educational and fun environment for all kids. Creating this environment depends upon participation, so we encourage all of you to attend the meeting.

At the meeting, we will review the past season, review our finances, discuss any other issues that are facing the league and, especially importantly, accept feedback and comments from NSELL families. Subsequently, the 2021 board will be elected.

Please consider volunteering in some capacity. What is involved in running the league? Most of the work is focused on organizing the league, including: tryouts, deciding how many teams should exist at each level, draft/player assignment, finances, scheduling, uniform procurement and distribution, obtaining sponsorship, coordinating each of the divisions of play, etc. In order for us to do these things well, it is extremely important for us to have people willing to participate in these efforts. If you are willing to consider providing feedback, to volunteer to assist in some aspect of these efforts, or to volunteer to serve on the board (meets monthly), please attend the annual meeting.

If you have any questions please send an email to .

Evaluations for Spring 2021 Majors

All  Little League age 10, 11, and 12 year olds who were not a member of a Spring/Summer 2020 Majors team should register for and attend this evaluation session.  Players who were on a Majors roster for the first time during the Fall 2020 season should attend this session.  Players born between 09/01/2008 and 08/31/2011 are eligible to play in Majors.

Note: Participation in a 2020 Fall Majors team does not mean a player is automatically drafted to a Spring 2021 Majors team.

WhenSaturday, October 24th (moved due to rain 10/17)

We are finalizing the schedule and will provide further information shortly.  Players will be assigned a specified time to attend.

Again, returning Spring/Summer 2020 Majors players do not need to attend.  Fall Majors players who were not on a Spring/Summer 2020 Majors team must attend.

Players will be evaluated on hitting, fielding, and (optionally) pitching.  Additional information will be distributed to all registered families.

Makeup Majors tryouts may be scheduled in the winter for all players who have an unavoidable conflict, subject to COVID-19 guidelines.  Players who are not able to attend will be considered for the Draft via prior coach evaluations.

Note: Players will be required to attend the session they are assigned.  A player who misses his/her assignment window will not be able to attend a different period due to COVID-19 guidelines.

  • Each player must bring their own equipment - helmet, glove, and bat.  No sharing of equipment is permitted except for family members.
  • Parents must remain in the vicinity of the field at their cars.  Parents are not allowed on or near the field.
  • Players must wear masks at all times.
  • Players who have not registered will not be permitted to participate.
