Come Join Us in The Sandlot! Register for the 2022 Sandlot Baseball Summer Nights!

Instead of forming teams with set rosters and coaching staffs, we will be conducting "Sandlot Baseball Nights." The objective is to give everyone a chance to have fun playing competitive baseball in an organized environment - a throwback to the decades when games could be more spontaneous. Games are at Bowen and there’s plenty of room for the family picnics!

Teams are constructed on-site each game night, from available players. We will provide umpires, coaches and other game-related logistics. 

The season is expected to run from June 28th to July 28th (8 regular game evenings and two clinic/party nights), on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (5:45-7:45). All participants must be registered for the Sandlot Baseball program in order to play on any given night.

To be eligible to play, children must have played in either Minor Division (AA or AAA) or Majors in the Spring 2022 season. 12-year old players who have graduated from Spring Little League Majors are eligible for this program. Players may register from either Newton SouthEast Little League or Newton Little League areas. Sandlotters who have played AAA or Majors who are interested will have an opportunity to learn and practice umping games in the Sandlot.

 The program cost is $75. Refunds may be requested before July 1, 2022 minus a $20 administrative fee. No refunds will be made after that date. Registration is limited to 40 participants and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Registration for Newton SouthEast Little League's Fall 2022 T-Ball League

T-Ball is a developmental league for young players who will be in pre-K and Kindergarten in Fall of 2022. T-ball is also appropriate for new-to-baseball 1st graders. The season consists of clinics, practices & games on Sundays and Tuesdays. 

• Players develop hitting skills hitting off a Tee
• Players develop throwing & fielding skills
• Players learn about force outs
• Players learn base running
• All players hit, every inning
• 3 inning games 

We strongly encourage parents to volunteer for coaching. This facilitates the establishment of school-based teams and will help NSELL comply with associated public safety regulations. Plus it's fun, personally rewarding and NSELL provides coaching for coaches!

Registration for Newton SouthEast Little League's Fall 2022 Farm League

NSELL's Fall Farm Baseball program is for players entering the 1st or 2nd grades in the Fall of 2022.  Rising first graders without baseball experience may consider enrolling in our T-ball program.

The program is a developmental program geared towards instruction and fun. All players bat and play in the field every inning. No game score is kept. Games are 3 innings. The goal is to develop skills and knowledge of the game while ensure all players are engaged and having fun.

• Games: Sunday afternoon and one weekday evening
• Practices: At coaches discretion, typically 1 per week
• Format: 100% coach pitch
• Season: Early September through end of October

Players are generally grouped by schools with 1 to 3 schools per team. We try to keep teams school-based and grade-based but this is not always possible.

This program is designed to be the entry into a kid-pitch environment and is designed for players entering 3rd grade in the fall of 2022.  There are weeknight and Sunday afternoon games.  Practices will be scheduled by the coaches.  

We strongly encourage parents to volunteer for coaching. It's fun, personally rewarding and NSELL provides coaching for coaches!

Registration for Newton SouthEast Little League's Fall AAA (Minors) Season

AAA is generally for players who will be 4th or 5th graders in Fall of 2022. Here's additional guidance:

• Little League age 10 & 11 players who played NSELL's AA or  AAA Division in Spring of 2022 should register for the AAA Fall division
• All Little League age 12 players who played AAA in the Spring should register for Majors
• Any 10 or 11 year player who played Majors in the Spring should register for Majors

The success of Fall Ball will be dependent on a healthy turnout of volunteers.  We strongly encourage parents to volunteer for coaching. It's fun, personally rewarding and NSELL provides coaching for coaches!

The following players should register for Majors via this link:

Spring 2022 Majors players 

Spring 2022 AAA players who were LL age 11 in Spring 2022 (will be 11 on Sept 1st 2022; generally rising 6th graders) 

Spring 2022 AAA players who were LL age 9 or 10 in Spring 2022 should register for AAA.  Moving up to Majors will be by commissioner discretion and will be based on space availability.
 

THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROGRAM WILL BE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE TURNOUT OF VOLUNTEERS.  NOW, MORE THAN EVER, ADULT PRESENCE ON THE FIELD IS REQUIRED TO ENSURE SAFETY.   PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING.

PLEASE NOTE:  Participation at the Majors level in the Fall does NOT imply a player will make the Majors/be drafted in the Spring.  Fall and Spring are very different seasons.  Expectations should NOT be set by a parent or coach that being drafted in the Spring is "a lock", just because a child played Majors in the Fall.  This is wrong for the child.
